G.A., A grown man is not impressed by a mantra of mindlessly spewed words thrown up to obscure the divergence of your path from that which His Majesty instructed. Nor is a little baby. To reason that Haile Selassie I, who exhorted people to emulate Jesus Christ's exemplary Life, was imbued with "missionary colonial mentality" is simply ludicrous grasping at straws. You would have us believe that His Majesty adored Christ and His Teachings in "true colonial manner". Your utterance reveal much about your present nature and mindset for anyone with I's to see. "Battlefield" seems like an apropos description, although I concede that when I first came to this site I thought it would be a place for civil discourse among people with a common foundation. Seeing overt hostility to the Bible in its entirety and archaic language charged with racism revived & bandied about (e.g., miscegenation), I real-eyes that there's an active movement to undermine His Majesty's Teachings afoot.

That's why I resist it also, RasTafarIWork. The "Burn JC and Burn bible" theme of this thread insinuates that Haile Selassie was some senile old coot running around incoherently singing "Praise Jesus Christ!" without having the slightest understanding of what He was talking about. Either that or it suggests that He was a cynical and devious worldly politrickster using Christianity as a ploy throughout His Life a la George W. Bush. We know that neither is the case. His Majesty selected His words with great care & specific intent (thus amply demonstrating His mental competence), and gave testimony which demonstrates that Christianity for H.I.M. was not some politically convenient ruse (designed to deceive and mislead the people) but His sincere & deeply held spiritual conviction. Casually blaspheming that which Haile Selassie embraces as His Highest Holy doctrine seems very wrong to me.
