Blessed love mi Idrens Allow Iman just a few words within de reasoning . If de Ancients in de 1930's didn't haf de Ible to guide IanI ,than they wouldn't have known about HIS Imperial Majesty ,Emperor Haile Selassie I, being de Almighty Jah Rastafari.The titles (KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS THE CONQUERING LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH ;LIGHT OF IRATION ;THE BRIGHT AND MORNING STAR ETC ETC...)of H.I.M are found in de Ible . IAnI wouldn't haf known about de vow of de Nazarite and Iman can go with dis "what IanI wouldn't haf known without de Ible" seen. Like H.I.M had said "...for myself that from my early childhood I was taught to appreciate the bible and my love for it increase with the passage of time ." so Iman cherish de Ible and would recommend it to any one seeking enlightment . I know that there are many believes (religions) that use de bible as dem defense and some misinterpretate de scriptures and and misleading many a good souls through preaching to fit into dem evil schemes . That does not mean to say that we should burn de Hola Ible . So if de Ible was good enough fe His Majesty and de Ancients of IanI Righteous Trod than it must be good enough fe We. I would disagree Rastafari is a response to slavery and colonialism of a group of Jamaicans who saw with the coronation in 1930, images of a nappy thick bearded king. He was a Blackman too. They had never seen or imagined anything like this before. This sparked the interest in HIM and his unconquerable throne....... We didn't know of any black kings or that it was possible let alone in this time (1930). This represented so much to African peoples in the West. Add this to the words of Marcus and Howell and there we have it...... Our saviour and redeemer. Our black king. Our rightful ruler. Africa stretching her hands. Haile Selassie I the almighty, haile selassie a I and I..........It was secondary to this rasta started to use whatever he could to justify his arguments as ideology - we had bible in our hand so we used that...... And it tied in nicely as Ethiopia is a Christian country so references like tribe of Judah etc would obviously be in the book. But to say we are rasta because of the bible is folly

But wid-out de Ible we would haf seen H.I.M Haile Selassie I as just a "nippy thick bearded king" wid great titles who was crowned in Africa to whom black people of de world can relate to;but would IanI haf seen him as de Almighty I is a another question . I nah say de Ible mek IanI Rastas ,its IanI faith in H.I.M dat mek I Rastas .Leonard Howell after hearing of Selassie I's coronation sight up de Ible first fe confirmation ,before de man wen out unto de streets to preach Rastafari divinity .

But we did say haile selassie was the almighty without the bible and any bible reference. This is how it happened for many. Rasta been using or not using the bible from 1930. Yet this reasoning still gets called 'new'

That's what I mean you just mentioned Leonard Howell 'Went to the bible for confirmation' Howell did not look in the bible for confirmation. It was already confirmed!!!!!! I've never seen the bible confirm anything The bible was supplementary but not confirming - rasta is not required to seek validity from anywhere apart from his or herself.

When Iman was a younger lion rising in Rastafari ,way before I had books on Rastafari (for any literature pertaining IanI Trod and Black history in general where scarce then) I also had dis inner feeling that Selassie I was or is God Almighty and that this feeling was all I needed fe I journey . In those early years I used to not want to read de Ible fe I came from a catholic backgrounds and just didn't wanted to do things associated with de church; and that de body were de temple of Jah Rastafari .I know now that its not a Christian book ,but that it is with other important books on black consciousness IanI Istory and FYAH!!! Still pon Rome and de pope and all dem false teachings . So one thing that's clear to Iman is that we may not agree on all things in this reasoning ;but IanI both sight H.I.M as Ivine. And that our love fe H.I.M mek it possible fe IanI to reason about His Majesty .Jah Rastafari . Ps: de link doesn't work

I don't understand this thread, if people lead you to someone or something and you accept that one or as your leader, father, teacher, God then how can you deny one of the things that, that one leads you to? Haile Selassie I gloried in the bible he pointed at it as a great tool he told us we can find comfort in it. How are ones and ones claiming to know better than the man who they claim has led them to salvation? If your burning the bible your burning RasTafarI they are inseparable one and the same. RasTafarI people follow RasTafarI words. The beginning and end, ones need to stop half stepping. RasTafarI Blessings

Rastafari said his Christian practice was not the only valid path to take. And Haile Selassie interpretation of the Bible differs from Rasta in that HIM has yet to say according to the bible he is the Almighty. There are differences between rasta and orthodox Christian. Therefore, your aRgument is also directed to yourself..... If based on the bible haile selassie is jah and this differs from the teachings of his majesty's orthodox faith, then how are you 'claiming to know better than jah' ? "But we don't consider our religion alone valid and have granted the people the freedom to observe any religion they please."
