Uhhmm no.. No1 has made that point.. You wanted to argue 'weakness' of having a gun when in nature so we argue that point.. I have already brought up personal home and public defense with a video of an armed robbery in a public place and nesta brought up sport shooting and target practice.. Also, they are a collectors item and many people do not even shoot them..

Okay, i'll just go ahead and confess to being obtuse or maybe it's just too late at night here. What is the point of this recurring theme of "white man" and "his guns"? How is this a racial issue? Seems like it started after i said something about carrying a gun in the Alaskan wilderness (for protection against grizzly bear attacks). The response was:

"I find it's a Whiteman mentality to think 1 needs a gun to live in the "wilderness" after 100s of thousands of years of non Europeans doing fine without. For the unskilled weak mind and physicality? No?"

Is the contention that a Black man would not a carry a gun in the Alaskan wilderness (even if a state regulation required it) because he wouldn't need one? He'd just wrestle that grizzly bear to the ground with his bare hands and break its neck...or tame it? Or because a Black man would take his mauling to death like a man? i'm really not seeing the race issue here. Feels like being criticized for common sense but not sure why. This isn't really a Black skin or White skin issue. What's next? Get into African-American gunsmiths like James Monroe Jones?

You have said that you are native American also. When it comes to "cowboys" and "indians" you side with cowboys? If you had to choose, cowboys or Indians, who would you be?

From your above quotes it reminds me of some people that live in my state, we call them "dreadnecks". Southern Oregon has a lot of dreadnecks. They embrace those same things that you mentioned and they have a love for RastafarI. Some just deadlocked cowboys/rednecks with no real love or knowledge of RastafarI.

Truth be told, no guns needed here:

Man riding lions and there are ones who have tamed grizzilies. I have a dreadneck breddren who has a few stories of grizzly bear encounters, though he didn't use a gun on them, he just talked his way out of the confrontation lol

Guns are not necessary when dealing with animals, equip your self with Jah Love and Guidance.

Again, it always about race.. Lol. I am 1/8 native american. My great grandmother was full. I am not about to take 12.5% of my heritage and run it as the fullness of my 'identity' lol especially when I was born and raised on a farm with country values.. To then run around saying im native im native seems disingenuous and what yall always say? Cultural appropriation.. And besides, it is a misrepresentation to say 'cowboys vs indians'.. Most of the battle between whites and natives was military, not the average farming or homesteader.. There were a many cowboys / frontiersman that lived in and amognst the natives with harmony.. Hence my great grandmother being in an interracial relationship 60 + years ago. You always bringing up race and side vs side is very telling, but it comes as no surprise since you say you live in Oregon. Liberal haven there.. Portland is a lost cause...

H.I.M's lions have always been a great source of awe for me.. Truly fantastic.. And there are tamed grizzly bears that hug their people and love, and a white man who did it.. Lol.. But, and this goes without saying, there is a huge difference between running into one in the bush vs ones that have been raised to be tamed for generations...

Yes, i had a grizzly bear sighting years ago and didn't shoot it because it was a long way off and there was no threat posed. i don't even think he saw me. That's probably what the dreadneck breddren experienced, not a "confrontation" in which "talked his way out". But hey anything's possible. i just visualize the body bags filled with what's left of other guys who tried to talk their way out of genuine "confrontations" with agitated grizzly bears.

But regardless, i don't mind other perspectives on guns at all, the only bur in my saddle is that this this has zero to do with race. i don't even see why that needs to be mentioned. This is a thread about guns. G.A.'s opinions about guns are perfectly valid as they express a perspective about a controversial topic of our times. Trying to make it into a black race vs. white race issue, however, is ludicrous. It simply isn't. Before there were guns everyone (name any race) was dealing with the wilderness and dangerous animals without guns. A lot of people were getting killed and eaten too. In today's world, millions of people (again, name any race) possess and use firearms for the kinds of activities and contingencies which have been cited in this thread.

Check out an absolutely fabulous movie called "The Rider" released last year. These days a lot of cowboys ARE Indians and vice versa. Really outstanding flick.

HAILE SELASSIE: Has lions and tigers etc as his pet. Doesn't carry gun. Keeps guns as ILLEGAL in his country. But the American man wants to disagree.. same American man who used the gun to invade half the world. Same American man who kills himself accidentally or via suicide and homicide with his own gun more than people die in actual WAR....make him gwan

Again. I have no desire for white people to agree or disagree with I on racial matters. It has no benefit.

If this argument was about the need in CERTAIN situations to have a weapon of protection then COOL. Or gun to fight REVOLUTIONARY OR EMANCIPATORY war then OK......But to talk as though most people would need 1 for personal use and protection? Nah ...unuh cowboy crazy now. America is gun crazy. And although I speak of certain specialist situations where it MAY be considerred... The point is .. Rastafari and gun don't agree

You miss the obvious. More guns equals LESS crime. Sure more GUN violence, but violent crimes as a whole, lead pipe beatings, stabbings, muggings, etc, SKY ROCKET when guns are outlawed. This is very well documented in every instance gun bans take hold. Obviously.

And yeah, I already posted about fighting tyranny and staying armed to defend against that but maybe it got lost in the wash.. Idk but no1 else picked up on it..

Anyways, look at the OVERALL violent crime statistics of a country when they ban the guns that they preciously had. It goes way up, everytime. From Europe to Chicago to Brazil to India. Everytime.. So what are you saying? You want more overall violent crime? I hope not..

And 'white privilege' already been debunked. Its a lie.. Those speaking it can only ever focus on race. Making every topic come back to it.. Which of course is the purpose of the universities pushing racail politics like 'white privilege'
