Hi everyone,i'm new to the forum ; Garvey,the Bible comes directly from the Sumerian myths (such as the creation one) which facts are way older than the Bible ones. As you can see,all of this writings were deeply inspired by the Gods (not the one God that today Bibles claim); in the Bible itself the word used to depict God is Elohim,which is a plural term,and Yahweh was one of the many Elohim upon the Earth. You can see how the Sumerians called these gods "Anunnaki",and how Enlil was probably the equivalent of Yahweh. All the other religions are similar,but have changed through history due to the only teaching method existing at the time,the oral one ; so what i think is that some facts claimed in every story of the creation and early history of man are true and really happened on this planet,such as the creation of man by a group of Gods,the great deluge,the fact that in a certain point those entities left the planet to return one great day. You see,i think this is real oneness that history teaches us ; we all share a common story,regardless of skin colour and race (plus,you see Sumerian texts talking about Ethiopian people and the apocryph of Adam & Eve,like when Adam dies and God himself descends from the sky on a wheel of fire and there's two among him,Seth asks Eve "Who are those two Ethiopians standing beside God?" "They are the Moon and the Sun" she answers,which are Enlil and Enki in the Sumerian myths,again the Bible has a link with Sumerian texts) . And many more stories,like Osiris was crucified in ancient Egypt and died like Christ,you see these stories about mythology have to be linked somehow,and there must be something true behind them,otherwise they wouldn't exist. I can't think of prehistoric man giving so much time and effort to write and draw on stones fantasy stories or metaphorical things. There are many mysteries upon the earth that makes you think of a very distant time when humans were linked to the Gods,they teached something really important to humans,and we find those kind of "it's better if you live this way" in all of sacred texts (for example,to not eat meat,to not cut hair or beard,to love your equal), Perhaps they were more evolved than us,our ancestors built megalithic sites and pyramids,maybe they already knew what we are learning today again,like that eating meat gives you cancer for example ;
all i'm trying to say is that the Bible is good,the indian Mahabarata is good,Quran is good,because they try to teach you the same things to live a good life,with love and prosperity for you and for those who surround you. Which specific text do you believe in is a simple matter of "Faith" in a religion or another,but what really change is like the name of the prophet and stuff,the important things are the values they're trying to teach us.
I'm sorry for my bad English,just a 23 year old boy really interested in Ital lifestyle,i let my beard and hair grow naturally as God,Universe or whatever gave me as I am and have dreadlocks,i've been practicing Ital lifestyle without even knowing until some time ago when i found it on the internet (which i consider one of the most controversial Babylon product,it's only good when you can reason with other people,like here). Love and have faith because once we were all one,the entity we call Jah once roamed the earth as all of the sacred texts say that even if they call him in different ways,and took our brother Enoch with him,as he was Enmeduranki in the sumerian texts and his story was the same,like Elijah ; and helped Noah,or Utanapishtim in Sumerian texts or Atra Hasis in the Babylonian ones,to survive the deluge.
