They can't study us, but a count should be done for our interest. We should know the demographics and how many of us there are and if we're on the rise or not.

Yeah its not possible because its not like religion where anyone who sais they are muslim,christian etc.
are that.

There are many different opinions about who can and cant be Rasta.

Some dont know much at all but claim Rasta in misunderstaning.

So counting would be subject to a persons own opinion and or limited knowledge about Rastafari.

Does one have to know how many cells are in the body in order for them to function each according to their purpose?

Nonsense, if we wish to one day organize and achieve some greater political goal, appeal for aid, create institutions or organizations and so on, we should know how many of us there are. There's a big difference between a few hundred thousand Rastas and 5+ million, seen?

Every religion keeps tabs on the amount of followers they have, it is an important factor no doubt. If anyone wishes to continue on this topic please go the The Political Rasta thread where we can talk about this. Here i simply wanted to know if there was such a thing.
