The scene is amazing, those who use the image and
likeness of His Imperial Majesty, only to sabotage
his personage before the world, or even those who
are addicted to only dub music -- hating lyrics,
(UB40 are anti-Rastafarian lyrics in reggae) and
hating the message of black redemption, black
victory, everything that the blessed Jamaican hero
Marcus Garvey spoke about -- even while being
persecuted by the N.A.A.C.P..
KKUP 91.5 FM, then in Cupertino, California, on
IMPERIAL, created a reggae marathon t-shirt design
with a lion, but without any crosses. I was told
that my idea would cause problems, lest the public
be offended at the image of a cross.
I also was taken-aside when I worked at Hewlett
Packard in 1989, telling me that someone found my
Ethiopian cross offensive and that I needed to get
rid of it.
There are sadly many offensive whites who have latched
onto reggae, many for only pot sake, who later find out
that their newly aquired appreciation for the reggae
beat, sound, music -- comes with black redemption and
and melanesian repatriation, and black pride, racial
pride -- everything that Marcus Garvey wrote of,
and again, while being FRAMED-UP by the N.A.A.C.P.
the same who want melanin man to be trapped in America
and suffer....
