The colours represent faith, hope, and charity. The Red on top is used during times of war. The five pointed star represents the Socialist Ethiopian Government who took over from the Communists in the early 90's. They changed the flag because they deny the King, Our Lion of Judah. Selassie I ~

Greetings, Give thanks, the I knows what the colours mean I an I wanted to know the real order, the way the colours should go or be. I an I was reasoning with a sistren about the colours and the I said that It's wrong to ware the colours green,gold and red,(humble) but should be worn Red,gold and green(war). How can a country deny a king? So the 6 point star is wrong so as rasta's we use the wrong star if we follow JAH RasTafarI? I n I dont Istand? Ethiopia is our land dont? Sistren, it's not that complicated. The order of the colours on the flag of Haile Selassie's Ethiopia are: Red, Gold, & Green (from bottom to top). The Lion with the Cross is the Imperial Logo of Haile Selassie's Christian Ethiopia representing Christ (The Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah). It was very easy for many Ethiopians to deny their King because they were systematically brainwashed by the Communist dergue. Even to this day the attempts to erase His memory continue with such blatant acts of treason as removing the Kings letters (initials) from the language. In the Amharic Alif~Bet, there are numerous letters (fidels) that share the similar sound. For example; there are several different "S" and "H" letters, of which the King's initials are the dominant force. However in todays modern language schools in Ethiopia I have heard that the King's initials have been ommited, because, supposedly they confuse people. Ridiculous nonsense !!! It is easy to see that the people have been disceived and led astray by this sort of malicious act aimed at discrediting the King of Kings & Lord of Lords. They should be ashamed of themselves for tarnishing Ethiopia's good name. Fire Burn !!! ~The Lion of Judah Hath Prevailed~

I am not changing it because this is the way that I see it. But it doesn't matter to I whether a next person wants to place it Red, Yellow, Green or Green, Yellow, Red, that is up to them. The order has changed a few times in the History of Ethiopia. Here is a quote from Haile Selassie I, from his Autobiography. It is from a proclamation of mobilization Haile Selassie I issued to his people on October 3, 1935 after Italy attacked Ethiopia. If the Italians are proud of their weapons against us, we on our part are proud that our greatest weapon against them is the help of God. Our flag, red, yellow and green, and our seal with the legend "the lion has prevailed" are the symbol of our independence; lest this symbol of our freedom should perish, it is a great honour for our good name and for our history that we die shedding our blood to the very last drop. Here is a footnote in the Autobiography. It is a comment made by a historian concerning the order that Selassie I called out the colours in this proclamation. --------------------------- This order, instead of the usual green, yellow, red, is curious, for, while there was for long uncertainty about the sequence of these colours, this was scarcely so in 1935, Cf. de Coppet, 616 ff.;Chojnacki in JES,I,2,49 ff. --------------------------- So even though the order at that time was generally accepted as Green, Yellow, Red. Selassie I still called it Red, Yellow, Green. I have heard different reasonings for the order of the colours. Some RasTafarI reason that the Red on top is the flag in times of war, and the Green on top is the flag in times of peace. What I see concerning the flag is that it represent the Rainbow Circle throne spoken about in Revelation. Revelation 4 2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. 3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. I sight that this Rainbow circle round about the throne represents the flag of Ethiopia, where the throne of Haile Selassie I is. And when I look at the Rainbow in the sky, the Red is on top. This is the top of the circle symbolizing the spiritual throne in Jah spiritual heights. When the Rainbow reach the ground, it come to the bottom of the circle where the Green is on top, representing the earthly throne. This is how I sight the flag and others are free to sight it according to what they see. The reason I keep the Red on top is because I man is fighting as a SoulJah and I look to Jah Spiritual throne, because I deal with spiritual warfare against wickedness in high and low places. But as I said, this is what I sight, and others may sight it differently, and I speak nothing against how a next person see it. Blessed Love, The Red Gold and Green Banner is our Rainbow covenant from creation. Some say that the way the flag is turned is not important but we know that Jah show us how important it is. Like the Honourable Ark I has already stated His Majesty called the flag the RED gold and green flag. During times of Menelik the flag was hoisted witht the red up same way. When all rastaman rose up in Jamaica, all flags were turned the right way with the red up but the Ethiopian World Federation was established with the turn down flag with GREEN on top, and they were funded by Queen Elizabeth the Second, so that flag eith gree pon the top represent COLONIALISM AND IMPERIALISM. When Jah come back in Ethiopia, he hoist the flag RED GOLD AND GREEN WITH RED PON D TOP. That was after he had driven the Italians out, so evidently the war was over then but Jah stil put the flag the right way up to show that He is driving out all colonialism out of Ethiopia. This situation has caused many conflicts because Babylon has created a division, some rasta turn it up some down but there is only One God so there is only ONE way to turn the flag that is with RED on top. The red is the blood, we the people, the green is the earth, the grass, so if the flag turn down then that mean DEATH cause the people under death. so we couldnt wish death. The rainbow covenant established with Noah everliveth, through Abraham Isaac and Jacob. So we burn pure fire upon 666 anti-christ philosophy of doing ting the opposite way that His Majesty does.
